TRIBUTE – FREE PARTY – FULL CREW! 8.06.2012

Since our launch party back in October last year with DJ Stingray we’ve brought some of our favourite DJ’s and live acts to the intimate surroundings of the La Cheetah basement, including: Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir, Basic Soul Unit, Aroy Dee, Specter, Jackee/Meschi, Alex Coulton, Carlos Nilmmns and of course Theo Parrish, who absolutely tore the roof off our last party!

Due to this stellar line up of international talent and the amazing performances they provided us with, you may or may not have noticed our team of residents who have been on hand before and after every event with sets to rival that of our guests.

Dom D’Sylva – Once Only Mix

In keeping with our residents theme this week we have another mix from the team here at Tribute. This time it comes from Dom D’Sylva who recorded this mix for the website back at the start of February. After contemplating the idea of redoing the mix Dom decided not too and give you the raw deal from the start of the year.

Aroy Dee – 60 Minutes Of Deepness Mix

Steven Brunsmann aka. Aroy Dee is label boss of the fantastic M>O>S recordings. We invited him to play for us back in April and he delivered one of the best DJ sets we’ve had at Tribute to date. Dropping personal favourites by the likes of Shake and Drexciya as well as some unreleased M>O>S cuts he managed to craft a perfect peak time set. That recording will be with you soon but until then Aroy has provided you with “60 Minutes of Deepness”. You can expect to hear plenty of the aforementioned unreleased M>O>S recordings gear on this mix as the man takes you on a journey into the deep!

Jamie Alexander’s Chart May 2012

1. Gene Hunt – ‘May the Funk Be With You’ – Rush Hour

The original is great but it’s all about the Theo remix for me. Theo has become quite a prolific remixer lately and this one is pretty special.

Basic Soul Unit – Live at Tribute – 9.03.2012

From our inception Stuart Li (Basic Soul Unit) has always been someone that we wanted to book for Tribute. Therefore we were more than chuffed when we managed to bag him to perform his live set for the first time in Europe. To the best of our knowledge this is the only Basic Soul Unit live set circulating the internet just now and therefore it’s pretty exclusive. Thank you to Stuart for performing this cracker and kindly letting us share this with you. Enjoy!

LA CHEETAH CLUB & TRIBUTE PRESENT – THEO PARRISH (4HR SET) – 4.5.12

Theo Parrish really needs no introduction but here goes… Dropping beats on Moodymann’s KDJ plus his own Sound Signature label since the mid 1990’s, Theo has forged a unique musical identity, fusing elements of house, jazz, afro-funk & soul into his own distinctive sound.
